Haunting: Birmingham, Alabama
SENT IN BY: Emily
LOCATION: Birmingham, Alabama, Jefferson County, USA
DATE OF INCIDENT: 20 April 1998.
In the dead of night on April 20th 1998, I and the rest of my family members,
experienced something very strange. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling very
confused and scared, but not knowing why. When I looked up, my closet door was open,
and I ALWAYS leave it closed. I was afraid that someone had broken into the house so I
tried to get up and out of my room, but I felt like something was stopping me. I finally
managed to get up and get out of my room... But with some difficulty. I went into my
mother's room but I felt like whatever it was had followed me so I went downstairs... But
mind you I was in a very dream-like state. I remember walking downstairs but I don't
remember anything after that. The next thing I knew it was morning and I woke up in my
bed.
I didn't tell my family members about this until the next evening at dinner. As I was
telling my little sister her eyes got really big and she began to tell me her story. The night
before, the same night of my strange experience, it seems my little sister had been
listening to her headphones, like she always does, before she went to bed. She turned off
her tape player, and laid it down on the floor under her bed before she went to sleep.
When she woke up in the morning, her earphones were on her head and the tape player
itself was laying perfectly on her stomach, playing music! Also that same, my mother
said she was awakened by loud banging noises coming from downstairs. She said the dog
ran downstairs and barked for about half an hour.
Unrelated to this one evening that I have been speaking of thus far, the lights in my
bedroom turned completely off and on by themselves, while I’m in the room. And it's not
like the lightbulb blows out because there are four lightbulbs in one fixture. I have no
idea what is going on in my house or more particularly my room, but if anyone has any
thoughts, ideas, or suggestions I'd be very appreciative.
