A Grave Curse
SENT IN BY: Michael Teal
LOCATION: Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada
DATE OF INCIDENT: 1995 May.

Myself and two friends went to visit Hopkin's tomb in Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada. The tomb is somewhat famous and has been written about many times. Years ago, three young men tried to break into the tomb. One died in a car accident, one lost an arm, the other a leg.

When we arrived that Friday night, it was raining (how appropriate). Colin, an investigative journalist, stayed in the van to videotape. Brett and I hopped the retaining wall and approached the tomb. The legend states that you must circle the tomb 7 times, knocking on the door each time you pass. Brett performed the ritual, I was taking still photos. When Brett asked me to perform the ritual, I replied "Look I've been a psychic for years. I don’t need to perform any rituals. I know what I'm doing." I wouldn't find out how wrong I was for another 24 hours. We left the tomb no worse for wear.

The next night, I was visiting my cousin in nearby Niagara Falls. Upon leaving, I was involved in a car accident. I remember the impact of the car hitting the tree. The next thing I remember is standing in my cousin's driveway about 500 yards down the road. My face was covered in blood. I went to the door and sent my cousin Jeremy to help my sister and the driver. When Jeremy got to the car, the driver was kicking in the passenger side window and dragging my sister out. It seems when the driver awoke, the doors were locked and the windows were closed. The car was a two door, and I was in the back seat. They have no idea how I got out of the car. After that night, my life took a turn for the worst. I ended up losing everything and living on the street for a short time.

I had always been financially secure. Things turned dramatically after my visit to the tomb. Things didn't turn around for the good until I went back and performed the ritual a year and a half later. Was it curse or coincidence? Life is all interpretation and perception. For me it was more than coincidence. You can come to your own conclusions.

Other Info: My name is Michael. I am a poet, writer and metaphysicist. I have owned an occult store and written a column on the paranormal. I am a professional psychic and I have lectured on alien phenomena. I also had a local cable TV show on the paranormal in which I was a weekly panelist and associate producer. I have taught tarot and I do spirit and spell work if asked. I have had many anomalous experiences. Thank you for providing a forum for which people can share their experiences.
